The Lee County Library System will host its 27th annual Southwest Florida Reading Festival on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Fort Myers Regional Library.

This free event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering readers a chance to meet more than two dozen authors.

Library Director Mindi Simon said, “I have been a part of this festival since the very first event and I love how it continues to grow and change to reach our community in new ways.”

The festival will feature author presentations, book signings, and interactive activities for all ages. Attendees can also enjoy library technology demonstrations, local author showcases, storytelling, arts and crafts, youth writing awards, festival merchandise, and a variety of food vendors.

Festival Coordinator Melissa Baker expressed gratitude for the support from Suncoast Credit Union Foundation, which donated $10,000 to provide a free book to each child and teen in attendance.

“The library is grateful for the funding from Suncoast, which supports literacy in the community and helps to instill a love of reading among our youngest attendees,” said Baker.

The festival is supported by donations, sponsorships, and grants, including funding from Florida Humanities and the Jacarlene Foundation.
