Tampa Bay already has plenty of ways to sit in a dark room and feel feelings. Hi, traffic. But 2026 is bringing a better option: The Roadshow with Zach and Monica, a traveling cinema pop-up that bounces between Tampa and St. Petersburg for monthly screenings, drinks, snacks, and a post-film discussion that’s basically group therapy for movie buffs, but with popcorn.
The series is presented by Green Light Cinema (221 2nd Ave N), the local spot that treats movies like a sport and the lobby like a hangout. It’s curated by local movie lovers Zachery Howard and Mónica Carrasquillo, who clearly woke up one day and said, “What if we made a book club, but louder and with better lighting?” It rotates between La Sétima Club (Tampa), Webb’s City Cellar (St. Pete), and Green Light itself, so every month comes with a different vibe and the same mission: watch something great, then talk about it like you’re all auditioning to host a podcast.
The rhythm is simple: drinks start at 7 pm, the movie rolls at 7:30 pm, and there’s a discussion after the credits, so you can finally say the thing you yelled at your TV, but politely and in public. Seating is limited and the Roadshow account keeps politely screaming “don’t wait,” because nothing says community like watching someone try to buy a ticket at 7:29.
This pop-up series actually started this past Tuesday, February 17 with a screening of The Favourite. Next up is La La Land on Tuesday, March 17, followed by Her on Sunday, April 19. After that, the lineup stays delightfully chaotic: A Fantastic Woman, Paris Is Burning, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Swiss Army Man, It Follows, Rent, and a year-end trip to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, which remains the gold standard for “children’s entertainment that also feels like a fever dream.”
One calendar note worth tattooing on your brain: the Roadshow team corrected The Iron Giant, it’s showing September 15 (not September 22), because even the most organized cinephiles occasionally get ambushed by the calendar.
This is an easy yes for anyone who wants a night out that’s more interesting than doomscrolling, and cheaper than accidentally ordering “one more round.” Follow the Roadshow on Instagram for updates, show-specific ticket links, and any last-minute tweaks.
