As heavy snow and strong winds impact parts of the East Coast of the U.S., TPA travelers are experiencing dozens of flight delays and cancellations.

TAMPA, Fla. — Dozens of flights have been canceled or delayed at Tampa International Airport (TPA) as parts of the East Coast are dealing with severe winter weather.

Cities and towns along the East Coast scrambled to prepare for a bout with heavy snow and damaging winds after forecasters issued blizzard alerts for communities from Maryland to Massachusetts.

The National Weather Service warned that once the storm intensifies Sunday it could prove significantly more severe than projections made just a few days ago.

Many of the affected flights are coming or going to TPA from cities such as New York, Boston and Baltimore, according to flight-tracking site FlightAware.

Additionally, travelers may see longer lines at the airport after the Department of Homeland Security announced it is suspending TSA PreCheck and Global Entry programs due to the partial government shutdown.

Here’s how many flights to or from TPA have been canceled or delayed as of 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22:
