The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating near the Lowe’s in Mandarin after receiving a report of a person shot, a spokesperson said Sunday.
An alert sent out around 3:30 p.m. asked people to avoid the area of Oldfield Crossing Drive and Old St. Augustine Road due to the increased police activity.
The parking lots of Lowe’s and other nearby businesses were blocked off with police tape when a First Coast News crew arrived on scene.
The details of the incident have not yet been released. Police are expected to provide more information in a briefing before 5 p.m. Sunday.
