Central Florida is bracing for cold temperatures following a weekend of warm air. According to the National Weather Service, overnight lows could reach the upper 30s in parts of the county early next week.Several counties across Central Florida plan to open shelters to keep residents warm as the temperatures drop. Here’s where:Osceola CountyKissimmee First Church of Nazarene will open Monday and Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m. each night.First United Methodist Church St. Cloud will open Monday and Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m. each night.There are nonprofits actively reaching out in areas where people experiencing homelessness are known to congregate to alert them of shelter availability, as well as to help coordinate logistics, the county said in a release.Residents needing transportation to the shelters can travel for free via LYNX buses. Riders will need to alert the driver that they are going to the warming centers.Pets will be temporarily cared for at Osceola Animal Services as space allows, but cannot stay at the shelters listed above.
