LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The body of a woman, who went missing out of Jacksonville, was found in Liberty County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Margaret Hanley, 72, was reported missing out of Jacksonville. Her car, a 2001 silver Toyota RAV4, was last seen on Feb. 8 on Oglethorpe Highway and Timberland Circle, according to officials.

Hanley’s vehicle was located on Old Hines Road, where it was found stuck in the mud. A body was discovered adjacent to the vehicle and has been confirmed to be Hanley, according to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

The family has been notified, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation. The vehicle has been secured and will be impounded as part of the investigative process.
