Rescuing dogs can be difficult and emotional, but thankfully, there are selfless people like Claudsluna, AKA @rescuewithme, who make it their life’s work. She helps rescue and care for dogs in South Florida who are down on their luck, just like their newest intake, Darling. She was found abandoned in an area known as the ‘rock pit,’ but now she’s safe in her rescuers’ care.
As her name implies, Darling is one of the most loving rescue dogs the team has ever encountered. She was so excited to see her rescuers that she gave them the sweetest hugs! Throughout every step of her rescue process—even after being spayed and vaccinated—she wanted only to love on her new friends.
Darling really is a darling! Despite being betrayed and abandoned by humans, she met her new friends with trust and love. @Rescuewithme thinks that the brave dog knew she was being saved, and I think she’s right!
“Her eyes light up whenever she sees you,” one commenter noticed. “[Dogs] don’t talk but have so much love in their body language.” From their wet noses to their wagging tails, furry friends will never miss the opportunity to show how happy they are.

Even though Darling is listed as a mixed-breed Pit Bull Terrier on her adoption page through Saving Sage Rescue, viewer @nicolepickard4 said, “That’s a Dogo Argentino! They’re the best dogs.” By the looks of it, this dog mom’s knowledge paid off!
Whatever breed she is, it’s clear that Darling’s forever family will hit the jackpot. This sweet, sensitive soul has been the most easygoing and affectionate dog despite all she’s been through, and now she gets to relax in a foster home until someone adopts her.
Reality of Dog Rescue
Every dog rescue story is as moving and unique as the last, but the reality is that they’re not always such happy occasions. Some dogs are rescued from difficult situations, and they aren’t so thrilled about being somewhere new. Others are reactive and fearful after experiencing trauma, but they all deserve the love and care that Saving Sage gives their dogs.
Many rescue dogs take a while to warm up to their rescuers, and that’s OK. However, the ones like Darling who couldn’t be happier to be saved will always have a special place in their rescuers’ hearts.
