The No. 14 Florida State Seminoles baseball team was routed by the Nebraska Cornhuskers 10-1 on Sunday in Arlington, Texas. It was their second straight loss and they went 1-2 at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series
Nebraska stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, chasing FSU’s Payton Manca from the game. They were never able to recover as the Cornhuskers finished with 10 hits. They hit .364 with runners in scoring position and kept adding onto their lead.
FSU’s offense had its worst performance of the season, finishing with just two hits. Their one run came off a solo homer from Myles Bailey, his second of the season. They struckout 14 times and were 0-8 with runners in scoring position.

The Cornhuskers are in complete control, having scored five straight runs after FSU got on the board in the fourth. The Seminoles have just one hit and have struckout 10 times.

Nebraska keeps adding on and the rout is on as they added two more runs in the seventh to go up 10-1. It is the most runs FSU has allowed this season.

FSU is in danger of getting blownout as Nebraska scored three more runs in the sixth to take a commanding 8-1 lead. Trey Beard, who had not allowed a hit yet, was tagged for three runs on two hits and a walk.
Nebraska 5, FSU 1: Chase Williams caught stealing to end 5th
The Seminoles were unable to get anything going in the fifth as Chase Williams worked a walk and stole second, but was caught trying to steal third to end the inning.

Trey Beard had another perfect inning for FSU in the fifth, getting a strikeout and two quick groundouts. He has retired all six batters he has faced, throwing just 17 pitches.

The Seminoles got their first run of the game in the fourth inning with a home run by Myles Bailey. It was his second homer of the season.

Florida State pitcher Trey Beard has taken over for Chris Knier on the mound, making his debut after transferring in from FAU. Knier allowed two runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings with four strikeouts.

FSU’s offense has been unable to get going, and they went down in order in the third inning. Their only base runner of the game has come via a hit by pitch.
