Investigation underway after person shot in Orlando neighborhood
ALONG I-95 COMING UP IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. ALL RIGHT. MEGAN. WELL, WE ARE STAYING ON TOP OF BREAKING NEWS IN DOWNTOWN NEAR DOWNTOWN ORLANDO THIS MORNING. POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING IN THE PARAMOUNT NEIGHBORHOOD ON SOUTH STREET. THIS IS JUST OFF I-4 AND THE 408. AND THAT’S WHERE WE FIND WESH TWO. BOB HAZEN LIVE FOR US OUT THERE THIS MORNING, BOB, THIS IS STILL A VERY ACTIVE SCENE. YEAH, THERE ARE SEVERAL POLICE OFFICERS AS WELL AS INVESTIGATORS OUT HERE ON THIS SCENE. AND I WANT TO SHOW YOU WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. THIS IS ON SOUTH STREET. AS YOU GUYS SAID, THIS IS AN APARTMENT BUILDING, SMALL APARTMENT BUILDING THAT THEY ARE INVESTIGATING. THIS SHOOTING AT RIGHT NOW. WE ARE TOLD THIS HAPPENED AROUND 230 THIS MORNING. AGAIN, THIS IS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD JUST A FEW BLOCKS DOWN FROM THE KIA CENTER, ALSO ONLY A FEW BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE ORLANDO POLICE HEADQUARTERS HERE ON SOUTH STREET. WE DON’T KNOW EXACTLY HOW BADLY THE VICTIM WAS HURT. ORLANDO POLICE HAVE ONLY CONFIRMED THAT ONE PERSON WAS SHOT HERE. THEY HAVEN’T SAID WHETHER THAT PERSON SURVIVED THE SHOOTING OR NOT. WE ALSO DON’T KNOW YET IF THERE IS ANY SUSPECT IN CUSTODY, BUT AS YOU CAN SEE OUT HERE, THEY DO HAVE THIS BUILDING ROPED OFF WITH CRIME SCENE TAPE, AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF OTHER BUILDINGS NEXT TO IT. BUT IT DOES LOOK LIKE THE INVESTIGATION IS REALLY FOCUSED ON THIS TWO STORY APARTMENT BUILDING IN THE 600 BLOCK OF WEST SOUTH STREET, AND WE’RE GOING TO STAY OUT HERE AND GATHER THE VERY LATEST WE CAN ON THIS SHOOTING AND BRING IT TO YOU
