As the final workweek of February begins, Miami drivers are paying slightly less at the pump.
Gas prices in the metropolitan area dropped 0.9 cents per gallon over the past week, bringing the average price of regular gasoline to $2.88 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 stations.
That’s 1.6 cents lower than a month ago and 16.3 cents lower than this time last year.
On Sunday, the cheapest station in Miami was selling regular for $2.33 per gallon. Meanwhile, Key Biscayne’s two gas stations were among the most expensive in the county, both selling at $4.49 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price of regular gasoline stood at $2.88 per gallon as of Monday.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said that “as seasonal supply tightens, the national average is increasingly likely to retest the $3-per-gallon threshold.”
