Jacksonville Police Department investigate shots fired

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WICS) – On Saturday, February at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers with the Jacksonville Police Department (JPD) responded to the 400 block of S. Mauvaisterre Ave., for a report of shots fired.

During the investigation, officers discovered evidence that a shot had been fired inside of a residence, during the course of a home invasion. Officers were able to determine that no one was injured from the incident.

Through the investigation, officers located a suspect who was taken into custody without incident. The suspect is being held at the Morgan County Detention Facility pending the appearance before a Judge.

At this time, the suspect has been arrested for Home Invasion and Aggravated Assault. JPD believes this incident was an isolated event and there is no threat to the public. This incident remains under investigation.

The suspect taken into custody was identified as Tynajah M. Lane of Jacksonville. All suspects remain innocent until proven guilty.
