Backyard Social unveiled Big Drip Coffee on Febr. 22, a first-of-its-kind coffee truck concept poised to transform the Southwest Florida coffee scene. The venture blends artisanal coffee craftsmanship with inventive evening cocktail offerings, establishing a distinctive all-day destination for the community.
Big Drip Coffee will occupy a custom-designed space at Backyard Social, showcasing a vibrant, modern aesthetic with bright colors and a distinctive paint-drip design. The truck will also feature an inviting patio area with string lights and umbrellas, offering both morning commuters and evening socializers a fresh coffee experience.
“We saw an opportunity to do something different in the local coffee market,” said Tucker Zahorian, the face of Big Drip Coffee and Bar Manager at Backyard Social. “This isn’t your typical coffee shop. We’re bridging the gap between specialty coffee culture and craft cocktails in a way that hasn’t been done here before. We make everything by hand with organic, local ingredients, meaning our syrups, baked goods, and everything else are crafted from scratch using the best quality ingredients we can source.”
A unique culinary talent behind the brand
Tucker Zahorian brings rare dual expertise to Big Drip Coffee. As an experienced barista and Bar Manager at Backyard Social, where he crafts all cocktails, Zahorian is uniquely positioned to create a seamless fusion of coffee and cocktail culture. This expertise is especially evident in the evening menu, where his background in both disciplines shines.
What sets Big Drip apart is the commitment to making everything from scratch. All syrups are handcrafted in-house using organic ingredients with no preservatives, ensuring freshness and quality in every cup. This artisanal approach extends to the food menu, which will feature homemade plain and chocolate croissants at launch, with specialty dessert items planned for the future.
Breaking the mold: Coffee meets cocktails
Big Drip Coffee is redefining expectations for modern coffee shop offerings. While mornings focus on traditional espresso-based drinks and pour-overs, evenings transform the space into something entirely different. Fresh espresso martinis, made with real espresso pulled to order rather than pre-batched mixes, will be available Thursday through Sunday evenings.
“The espresso martini trend is everywhere, but most places are using shortcuts,” Zahorian explained. “We’re pulling fresh shots for every cocktail, which makes a world of difference in taste and quality.”
Accessibility meets innovation
Big Drip Coffee will operate seven days a week with hours designed to serve both early risers and night owls:
Monday through Wednesday: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursday through Sunday: 7 a.m. until Backyard Social closes (10 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays, 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays).
The strategic positioning allows drive-by access for morning customers before Backyard Social’s main venue opens, addressing a need in the Fort Myers/Estero market for quality coffee outside traditional café settings.
Part of a larger vision
Big Drip Coffee is the first phase of an expansion at Backyard Social. South Cypress Brewing, a microbrewery concept, is slated to open on-site in approximately two months, creating a comprehensive food and beverage destination.
