Ron Dao’s
15320 McGregor Boulevard, Fort Myers – 239-481-1882
For many families, pizza is as much of a food staple as cereal or bread. And at Ron Dao’s, a family-owned pizzeria and sports bar, there are multiple styles of pizza for even the most serious connoisseur. If you have a nod to the sea in mind, Ron Dao’s offers seafood pizza with scallops, shrimp and jumbo lump crab, as well as clam and shrimp pizzas. These beachy pies may be ordered with red sauce (marinara) or white sauce (Alfredo) and are topped with fresh garlic and mozzarella. All of Ron Dao’s pizzas come in either a 10” or 14” size, unless you’re interested in a rectangular pizza. The Sicilian pizza is not round at all, and the menu claims this pizza tastes as though the recipe came straight from Sicily. Finally, Ron Dao’s also offers pizzas built upon cauliflower crusts. This is the pizzeria and sports bar’s gluten-free option. With nearly 70 televisions and a hearty menu of pizzas and other Italian favorites to choose from, Ron Dao’s has plenty of zest and spice to make it a popular destination.

Capone’s Coal Fired Pizza
2225 First Street #201, Fort Myers – 239-337-2625
Capone’s coal-fired pizzas are served up in a 1920s gangster-themed restaurant and feature a unique smoky flavor created by being baked in an oven that reaches 900 degrees! The coal-fired oven – and an underground mob-style vault – are two of the restaurant’s primary features. At Capone’s, the immersive atmosphere is just as important as the pizza, which is classified as New York style. Even the menu is true to the gangster theme, listing the many hearty offerings in an old-time newspaper format. Whether you choose Al’s Carne Grande, a pizza with tomato sauce, sausage, mozzarella and Romano cheese, pepperoni, sausage, bacon and meatballs or The Mobster White, featuring Romano cheese, ricotta and mozzarella topped with roasted garlic and fresh oregano, these smoky pizzas are truly unique. Capone’s also welcomes build-your-own pizzas and offers Italian-style entrees like chicken parmesan and Veal Milanese. Because of their downtown location, Capone’s sometimes has a wait. Don’t worry, the immersive décor will keep you occupied until it’s time for pizza – and maybe one of their hand-crafted cocktails like the Mobster Mule with Cîroc berry vodka, Rose’s lime, ginger beer, cranberry and fresh mint!
Lombardough’s Pizza and Beer
17081 S. Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers – 239-303-8353
If you’re looking for a great patio location with pizza and beer to enjoy outside, Lombardough’s is just the place. Notice the dough part of Lombardough’s name, because the house dough and gluten-free dough are where these masterful pizzas really shine. To top their specialty dough, this pizzeria offers three sauces, including red sauce, ricotta cream sauce or garlic parmesan sauce. Fresh mozzarella and vegan mozzarella create step three, and step four of building your Lombardough’s pie means choosing toppings and even garnishes. Along with the traditional toppings like pepperoni and bacon, broccoli and banana peppers are offered. Parmesan, hot honey and pesto are among the six garnishes available to complete your creation. Lombardough’s pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven and served with crispy, golden-brown edges. Take your beer, soda, or milkshake and your pizza outside, and eat under cheerful strands of lights and next to colorful wall collages. In the end, leave room for their Campfire S’mores Pizza, topped with chocolate, marshmallows and crushed graham crackers. Pizza for two courses? Yes to that.
