  • February 24, 2026

MIAMI – A Florida man was arrested after he held a woman hostage after meeting on a dating app, police said.

Miami police say 34-year-old Saady Triminio bought an Orlando woman a Brightline ticket and invited her to celebrate his birthday.

According to CBS News, the woman brought her 3-year-old daughter with her to visit Miami. When they arrived, police said the woman believed they were going out to dinner, but Triminio bought a pizza and took the woman and her daughter back to his apartment.

The woman told police she felt uncomfortable due to the apartment’s condition and the fact that Triminio tried to kiss her, CBS News reported.

When she tried to leave, police said Triminio became angry, blocked her and bear-hugged her to stop her from leaving.

Police said Triminio took the woman’s phone away before she was able to lock herself in a room with her child and somehow call for help.

Triminio now faces multiple charges, including false imprisonment and battery by strangulation.
