Brazilian midfielder Ricardo Kaka, World Cup winner in 2002 and Ballon D’Or winner in 2007, joined Orlando City ahead of their inaugural MLS season in 2015 and played with the Lions through the 2017 season. Portuguese winger Nani, known during his time with Manchester United and a winner of the 2016 Euros with Portugal, played in Orlando from 2019 to 2021. Orlando City currently has a DP slot open following the exit of Luis Muriel this past offseason. Argentine attacker Martin Ojeda and Croatian winger Marco Pasalic currently occupy the team’s first two DP slots. The Lions opened the 2026 MLS season with a 2-1 loss to Red Bull New York last Saturday. Orlando City is scheduled to host Inter Miami on Sunday at Inter&Co Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
