The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says that the victim was in his early 20s.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reported that a person has died Monday night following a head-on collision with a semi-truck.

JSO says that a little before 9 p.m., a man in his early 20s was driving a Dodge SUV in the 600 block of Eastport Road.

At the same time, JSO says that a semi-truck-trailer was traveling southbound on Textile Road. As the driver was making a wide right turn heading Westbound, the sheriff;s office says that the vehicle crept into the oncoming eastbound lane, which resulted in the collision.

Members of Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded, where they pronounced the driver of the SUV deceased upon arrival.

According to JSO, this is the 33rd traffic fatality in Duval County in 2026.
