TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) – The Florida House is on track to approve the Florida Farm Bill after a committee removed a provision that would have expanded the state’s non-disparagement clause.
The current non-disparagement clause applies only to perishable food. The committee stripped a section that would have broadened that scope.
The comprehensive legislation, which covers the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, would prevent local governments from restricting gas-powered equipment, ban solicitation at homes displaying no-solicitation signs and create a loan program for veterinarians who treat livestock and commit to remaining in Florida.
The Florida Senate passed an identical version of the bill last week. The House is expected to take up the measure for a full vote.
