FORT MYERS, Fla.— A manatee rescue operation is underway at Orange Harbor in Fort Myers.
Representatives from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and ZooTampa are on location, removing a female manatee from the waterway.
FWC spoke with WINK News, saying the manatee extracted on Tuesday will be relocated to the SeaWorld rehabilitation center.

FWC informed our team on another rescue planned; however, they are unable to at this time due to animal situated behind a locked gate. An FWC representative added that they are not sure if they are able to go back into the waters today.
