TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Law enforcement agencies and community partners are hoping new data will help allocate resources to curb violent crime in Tallahassee and Leon County.
Tuesday morning, representatives met at the Leon County Sheriff’s Office to discuss the Tallahassee-Leon Violence Reduction Strategic Plan. The group spent time talking about ways to engage with the community and deter crime.
Leon County’s Assistant Sheriff Grady Jordan said the panel takes a collaborative approach using real-time data.
“I think in the past, we’ve never looked at it from a research component perspective, and so being able to work with FSU and all of our local partners, whether it be the nonprofits or the other law enforcement agencies, that data is providing us a lot of information on where we can focus our efforts,” Jordan said.
