PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 65-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash involving an SUV late Monday morning in Port St. Lucie.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department said the crash involved a motorcycle and an SUV at 11:55 a.m. near SW Crosstown Boulevard and SW Southern Hills Drive. Police said the crash forced the closure of Crosstown Parkway between SW Southern Hills Boulevard and SW Cresswind Way as investigators worked the scene.
Rescue crews responded and transported the motorcyclist to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to PSLPD.
Police said the crash remains under active investigation, and no additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision have been released. Detectives expect to provide updates as more information becomes available.
