According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 12:30 p.m., Livan Castillo, 27, of Miami, breached the exit doors at Checkpoint 1 before pushing a TSA officer and then running toward Gate D23.

Deputies said the TSA officer never lost sight of Castillo as she waited for deputies to arrive.

According to the report, Castillo was taken into custody at the gate without further incident.

Due to his actions, Checkpoint 1 had to be shutdown for several minutes, “causing minor delays and interrupting airport operations,” the report stated.

According to the report, Castillo was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He was not interviewed due to his “erratic behavior,” authorities said.

A motive for allegedly breaching the secured area was not stated in the arrest report.

Castillo faces charges of violating a designated operational area of an airport and battery.

As of Wednesday morning, he remained at TGK on a $3,500 bond.
