Florida House passes Missy’s Law, requiring bond revocation after conviction

  • February 25, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) – The Florida House approved Missy’s Law on Wednesday, sending the bill to the Senate.

The bill would require judges to revoke a person’s bond once they are convicted of a crime.

The legislation is named after 5-year-old Missy Mogle, who was killed in Tallahassee last year. Her stepfather is charged in her death, which occurred while he was waiting to be sentenced on a charge of traveling to meet a minor.
