TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The City of Tallahassee kicked off its 17th annual Capital City Senior Games at Cascades Park on Wednesday.
The opening ceremony began with a torch run and a fun walk that included about 100 seniors.
The 2026 games will run now until March 17, with officials anticipating about 800 people to take part.

The Olympic-style event is for individuals 50 or older who are interested in competitive or recreational fun events, with 69 events across 20 sports.
“It’s a thrill, you know. And you think I’m just going to participate and you don’t care about winning, but you do,” Linda Roberts, a game participant, said.
