Here are the area’s top high school sports performers for Feb. 25. Top performers are based on the results sent in by the coaches. 

Wednesday, Feb. 25

BASEBALL

Drew Barren, Dixon: The senior went 2-for-3 with three runs and a steal in an 11-5 loss to New Bern.

Maguire Lewis, Jacksonville: The senior was 1-for-3 with a run and struck out six in three innings in a 6-5 loss to Topsail.

Jacob Moore, Jacksonville: The junior was 1-or-3 with a run and RBI.

Tyler Futrell, Richlands: The junior went 2-for-3 with an RBI in an 8-3 win over Pamlico.

Kyler Ornoski, Richlands: The junior scattered six hits, allowed no earned runs and struck out nine in six innings and was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Mitchell LaRose, Swansboro: The sophomore went 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs, two runs and two steals in a 13-3 victory in five innings over White Oak.

DJ Schofield, Swansboro: The sophomore went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI and struck out nine in three no-hit innings.

Kevin Till, Swansboro: The senior went 1-for-2 with two runs and two steals and struck out five in two innings. 

SOCCER

Ava Stephens, Jacksonville: The senior recorded a hat trick in a 3-0 victory over Richlands.

Olivia Briick, Lejeune: The freshman had two goals and one assist in a 10-1 win over Wallace-Rose Hill.

Scarlett McLean, Lejeune: The junior had seven goals and two assists.

Raelyn Muniz, White Oak: The senior notched a hat trick in a 6-3 win over West Carteret.

Brianne Sanchez, White Oak: The sophomore scored two goals. 

SOFTBALL

Julianne McAllister, Croatan: The senior was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs in a 19-0 win over Washington.

Wyndham Fenton, Croatan: The freshman was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, two runs and an RBI.

Jayne Hayden, Swansboro: The junior was 3-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and a run in a 12-9 loss to White Oak.

Addison McMillian, Swansboro: The junior went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI

Jordyn Williams, Swansboro: The junior went 2-for-5 with a run, RBI and a steal.

Alyssa Carkhuff, White Oak: The senior was 1-for-3 with two runs and a home run and struck out four in five innings in a 12-9 win over Swansboro.

Avery Sise, White Oak: The junior was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run.

Alyssa Whitcomb, White Oak: The junior was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs and struck out four in two innings. 

TENNIS

Ian Balog, Croatan: The senior won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and 8-1 at No. 1 doubles in a 9-0 win over Dixon.

Calvin Gossert, Croatan: The senior won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5 singles.

Cabo Hruska, Croatan: The senior won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Charlie Quinn, Croatan: The senior won 1-6, 6-3, 10-5 at No. 3 singles No. 2 doubles.

Javi Robles, Croatan: The junior won 3-6, 6-0, 10-6 at No. 2 singles and at No. 1 doubles.

Jack Sulzen, Croatan: The sophomore won 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 6 singles.
