A Feb. 25 fire at a mobile home on Hutchinson Island destroyed the residence, with American Red Cross volunteers helping one person, according to fire officials.
St. Lucie County Fire District crews were called at 2:35 p.m. Feb. 25 to the incident in the Holiday Out at St. Lucie community on South Ocean Drive in extreme southeastern St. Lucie County, Fire District Division Chief Daniel Mikels said. That area of St. Lucie County includes part of Jensen Beach.
He said one home was about 75 percent involved in flames when crews arrived.
“That was a total loss,” he said.
Crews worked to protect the structures around it, though there was some damage to the neighboring mobile homes, Mikels said.
