TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on firearm charges stemming from a shooting in Quincy, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Sincere Perkins, 25, was convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a machine gun in Nov. 2025.

Perkins was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force at a Tallahassee apartment for an outstanding warrant, according to court records.

Officers searched the apartment and found several guns, including a pistol modified to fire as a machine gun, the U.S. Attorney’s Office wrote in a press release.

Ballistics from two of the weapons found in the apartment matched shell casing from a shooting in Quincy where two teenagers were shot.

Perkins DNA was found on both guns that had been used in the shooting, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

At sentencing, the judge found that Perkins had been one of the shooters, the press release said.
