Man struck by vehicle in northeast Miami-Dade A man was rushed to a hospital Wednesday night after he was struck by a vehicle in northeast Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was rushed to a hospital Wednesday night after he was struck by a vehicle in northeast Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 14700 block of Northeast Sixth Avenue shortly after 10 p.m.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim had been struck by a vehicle while trying to cross the street.
A Local 10 News crew was in the area after the accident and spotted a shopping cart in the middle of Sixth Avenue, along with a sneaker. Debris could also be seen scattered on the roadway and the car that struck the victim had busted headlights.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel transported the victim to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in critical condition.
Traffic, meanwhile, was stopped for hours as detectives investigated the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Deputies said the driver remained at the scene. It’s unclear whether any charges will be filed or if the driver was issued a ticket.
Witnesses told Local 10 News speeding is common on the roadway, but it’s unclear whether speed was a factor in this crash.
