The moving company analyzed moves across 50 states from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.

The company ranked based on these criteria:

Origins and destinations of adult moves

Intrastate versus interstate flows

Demographic characteristics of people who are moving

The data shows 14,977,223 adults moved in the United States in 2025, which is 4.46% of the country’s adult population.

Moving in the same state: 11,756,200 (78.49%)

Moving to another state: 3,221,023

Why is Florida in the top 10 states for migration in 2025?

Net migration gain: Florida saw 15,166 more adults moving into the state than moving out in 2025.

Why is Port St. Lucie in the top cities for migration in 2025?

When broken down by city, Port St. Lucie was among the top 50 cities in the United States for net migration gain in 2025.

In a different study, Port St. Lucie was ranked the “hottest” Zip code in the United States for December 2025, it saw 16.2 moves per 1,000 residents that month.
