A brief reprieve from the consistently dry conditions may be on its way.

Friday begins with a dense fog advisory across the southern parts of Central Florida through 9 a.m., according to NWS Melbourne.

The advisory includes Osceola, Okeechobee, inland and mainland Brevard, inland Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties.

There is a slight chance of showers before 1 p.m., a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., then likely showers and a possible thunderstorm after 4 p.m.

Orlando and Melbourne are at 70 percent chances, Fort Pierce has a 60 percent chance and Daytona has a 50 percent chance for rain, according to NWS Melbourne.

Temperatures will peak between 79 and 85 degrees across the region.

Looking ahead, rain and lightning storm activity will increase Friday afternoon and into Saturday ahead of a weak front.

Isolated to scattered onshore moving showers are anticipated Sunday through Tuesday.

There is a moderate risk of rip currents at all area beaches.
