RUSTON – Louisiana Tech begins a challenging three-game road swing this weekend as the Bulldogs battle UAB and conference foe Jacksonville State.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (6-2)
LA Tech extended its winning streak to three following a convincing 6-1 win over reigning Southland Conference champion Stephen F. Austin.  The Bulldogs, who have now won five of their last six matches, dropped only two total sets in their home opener versus the Lumberjacks.
 
The ‘Dogs improved to 29-16 overall in dual singles, anchored by junior Zoie Epps who improved to 6-1 on the spring at the No. 1 position.  The bottom of the lineup has been key for LA Tech, going a combined 12-3 at No. 5 and No. 6 primarily with June Vigneron and Isabella Walker, respectively.
 
In dual doubles, the Bulldogs are a combined 12-8, having won five of their eight doubles points.  All three doubles pairings have four victories with the best record belonging to the duos of 50th-ranked Epps/Walker and Mio Kozaki/Diana Starodubtseva
 
ABOUT UAB (3-5)
UAB has had a tough spring schedule so far, dropping three matches to SEC foes – Auburn, Mississippi State, and Alabama.  The Blazers own victories over Belmont, Alabama State, and Samford.  Most recently, they suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat at home to Kennesaw State.
 
The Blazers are a combined 16-26 in dual singles with four players having registered three wins apiece.  At the top of the lineup is Kristyna Damaskova who is 3-4 on court one.  The sophomore led UAB last season with a 16-4 singles record.
 
In dual doubles, UAB is a combined 11-9 and have won the doubles point in four of their last five matches.  The Blazers have two pairings who have five victories this spring, including Damaskova and Klara Kajabova who are 5-2 at No. 1.
 
LA Tech leads the all-time series versus UAB, 8-6.  The Bulldogs have won six of the last seven meetings, including a 4-1 win in Ruston in 2024.  LA Tech has beaten UAB three times in Birmingham.
 
ABOUT JAX STATE (5-3)

Jax State has bounced back from two tough losses to North Alabama and Samford by claiming a 4-0 shutout win over Alabama A&M and most recently a 4-3 victory at rival Troy, getting the clinching point on court four in a three setter.
 
The Gamecocks are a combined 24-16 in dual singles this spring, led by freshman Sae Kaneko who has a team-best five wins coming from the No. 5 and No. 6 spots.  Polina Ramenskaja is the top player for Jax State, owning a 4-2 mark at the No. 1 position.
 
In dual doubles, the Gamecocks are a combined 14-7, having won the doubles point in six of their eight matches.  The pairing of Kaneko and Angeles Rodriguez-Rizo are 6-2 while playing primarily on court three.
 
LA Tech trails in the all-time series against Jax State, 0-2.  Most recently, the Gamecocks were a 5-2 winner over the Bulldogs in Ruston in 2024.
