CAPE CORAL, Fla.—Cape Coral has been designated as a “Tree City USA” community for 2025 by the Arbor Day Foundation, receiving its eighth consecutive Growth Award for urban forest management.

This marks the 34th year Cape Coral has achieved the Tree City USA status by maintaining a tree board, having a tree care ordinance, dedicating an annual forestry budget, and hosting an Arbor Day observance.

The Growth Award recognizes Cape Coral for environmental improvement and enhanced tree care, including planting over 4,000 trees in partnership with several organizations.

“Earning this recognition year after year shows how deeply our city cares about its trees and green spaces,” said City Arborist Omar Leon.

“Every tree we plant is a promise to the future for cleaner air, cooler neighborhoods, and a healthier environment,” Leon said. “Together, we can continue growing a resilient urban forest that benefits our community for years to come.”
