ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — An 88-year-old woman died following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road 7 and Pioneer Road.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened on Feb. 18 at 12:24 p.m. when a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu traveling north on SR-7 failed to stop for a red light. The driver entered the intersection against the signal as crosstraffic received a green light.
A 2024 Toyota Tundra and a 2026 Cadillac Lyriq were both stopped at the intersection on Pioneer Road—one in the eastbound lane and the other in the westbound lane—when the Malibu drove into the crossing, according to the crash report. Investigators said the Malibu struck the right front corner of the Toyota first, causing both vehicles to collide a second time as they were pushed together.
