Last Monday, Tampa City Councilwoman Lynn Hurtak became the first elected official to file paperwork in the 2027 race for mayor. She’s one of eight names in the race, according to records from Hillsborough County’s Supervisor of Elections, and joins candidates like Alan Henderson, who was the first to file back in January 2025.
