Closets By Design has opened a franchise location in Tallahassee.
Closets By Design — a national chain known for custom closet installations — is now in Tallahassee.
Franchise owner Matt Lyons said the nearest other locations are in Jacksonville and Pensacola, which means Tallahassee closes out the North Florida – Panhandle gap. The Tallahassee location serves residents within 200 miles, including south Georgia.
“Most customers have the typical wire shelving and hanging rods in their closets … We have designers come out to the home,” Lyons said. “They look at the space, and they can design a nice, functional design for the customer at an affordable price.”
Most of the company’s customers are homeowners with existing homes, although Lyons said he’d jump at an opportunity to customize closets for new construction homes and work with local builders. The cost for custom closets depends on based on materials, function and scale. Lyons said the range can start at $750 to $40,000, adding the company offers four categories for customization.
The categories are everyday, classic, regency and brio, which is a textured wood-grain material and the high-end version of what Closets By Design does. The Tallahassee site opened in December and is located at 2132 Lake Bradford Road, near Doak Campbell Stadium. It includes a small showroom that’s still under construction. Appointments are encouraged for consultations.
The company has more than 50 locations nationwide, including several Florida cities like Fort Myers, Orlando, Palm Beach and Miami.
