PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Port St. Lucie community is gathering today to honor St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Detective Christopher Mock, a devoted father and husband who tragically died in the line of duty last week.
The service will take place at 11 a.m. at Christ Fellowship Church in Port St. Lucie.
Detective Mock, who joined the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in 2004, was a respected member of the criminal investigation division and served on the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He was known for his relentless work ethic, integrity, and compassion.
Mock died of a cardiac event.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and children, Jasmine and Adrian.
The procession will depart from Haisley Funeral Home on Okeechobee Road in Fort Pierce at 9:15 AM and follow the route below:
East on Okeechobee Road from the Funeral Home to 25th Street.South on 25th Street to Midway Road.West on Midway Road passing in front of SLCSO Headquarters to Interstate 95.South on Interstate 95 to Crosstown Parkway.West on Crosstown Parkway to Village Parkway.South on Village Parkway to Christ Fellowship Church.
Law enforcement will escort the procession, and temporary road closures or rolling slowdowns may occur along the route. Drivers are urged to use caution, follow directions from traffic officers, and show respect during this solemn event.
Mock will be honored with a 21-gun salute and taps.
