The Cape Coral Seahawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Babcock Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cape Coral took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Mariner, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Seahawks had just enough and edged out the Tritons 3-2 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.

Emma Brannan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Buice, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Tyler, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Babcock came out on top against DeSoto County on Thursday thanks in part to the team’s impressive five-run seventh inning. The Trailblazers walked away with a 9-5 win over the Bulldogs.
Brooklyn Mills made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn’t given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. That’s the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Caylee Kessler was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Deliah Goss, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Babcock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
The victory got Cape Coral back to even at 2-2. As for Babcock, their record now sits at 4-2.
Cape Coral came out on top in a nail-biter against Babcock when the teams last played back in February of 2025, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seahawks since the squad won’t have the home-field advantage this time around. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
