TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Thick clouds and fog will greet you Saturday morning across the Big Bend and South Georgia. Visibility will be under 1/4 in some spots this morning. Conditions improve throughout the morning.
A sunny end to your Saturday
A cold front moved through overnight, leaving cooler air in its wake. Expect the clouds to break in the afternoon, with a stray shower possible through early afternoon. Highs will reach the mid-70s.
Good news for Banana Ball fans, the weather is looking great for the first pitch of the Savannah Bananas game at Doak Campbell Stadium. Temperatures in the upper 60s with mostly clear skies. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
Skies clear overnight with temperatures dropping into the 50s, with a few spots dipping to the upper 40s. Patchy dense fog is expected again tomorrow between 5 and 9 a.m., but it will not be widespread.
Beach and boating forecast
If you’re heading out on the water this weekend, conditions are calm, but watch out for rip currents. Northeast winds will be 5-10 knots with seas 1 foot or less. Protected waters and bays will see light chop. Rip current risk is moderate. Water temperatures in the low to mid-60s.
Sunday brings another fairly calm day on the waters. NE winds 5-10 kts, seas 1 foot or less, and continued moderate rip current risk.
Bright and warm days ahead
High pressure builds in on Sunday and Monday, bringing plenty of sunshine and warmth. Expect highs in the upper 70s to low 80s on Monday and Tuesday.
A weak front slides through early Tuesday, bumping up winds slightly and dropping highs a few degrees to the mid to upper 70s. By midweek, temperatures rebound to the upper 70s and low 80s.
Fire danger may be a little elevated on Tuesday and Wednesday. Be cautious with any outdoor burning or activities that could spark a fire. Burn restrictions in Lowndes County, GA and a burn ban in Lafayette County, FL.
An isolated shower is possible late week as highs climb into the low 80s.
