Second round of rain expected across Central Florida

  • February 28, 2026

ORLANDO, FLa. – A cold front pushing toward Central Florida will increase rain chances up to 40–50% from Saturday morning into the early afternoon.

Timing

Showers will be scattered, but a few storms could pack a punch — especially across parts of Osceola County and Brevard County, where a marginal risk for isolated strong to severe storms is in place.

Severe risk

Any stronger storms could bring bursts of heavy rain, wind gusts up to 50 mph, frequent lightning, small hail around the size of coins, and even a brief tornado can’t be ruled out.

Afternoon highs will stay close to average, climbing into the mid-70s inland, with cooler readings along the coast in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Highs

By Sunday, rain chances drop to around 20%, with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the 70s. Even better news — temperatures rebound into the 80s next week with lower rain chances and a return to a warmer, more typical Florida feel.
