The Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida. Since the announcement, construction for the coaster has continued at a rapid pace with an opening timeline of sometime in 2027.
Several pieces of track were spotted in a staging area near Epic Universe. These pieces could be placed soon near the ride service building.
The coaster track will run behind the Music Plaza Stage, where concrete forms will serve as footers for the attraction. A walkway was also recently added connecting the soundstages to the plaza stage.

Several of the footers appear to be almost ready for vertical beams that will support the track, while others still need work. The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit station used to sit in this location.
The Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift service building also has multiple floors, and according to @bioreconstruct, the crane has been observed working on the site overnight. For example, structure and roof sections are being placed between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. During the daytime, construction is done inside.
Another small station building has gone up near the former firehouse entrance, where the Rip Ride Rockit track went through.
On February 25, photos offered a view inside the concrete forms for the upper floor of the Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift roller coaster station, with column rebar seen just above the edge. The photo to the right is from February 27.
A concrete pad will likely be cast soon around the top of these pilings to make a roller coaster footer.
Construction can also be seen from CityWalk, where roller coaster footers seem ready for supports and track.
Another small building has been built near the former Blue Man Group Orlando location.
The rectangular concrete forms at the construction site of Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift hints to where a sliding track switch could be located.
Looking at the yellow arrow, it seems like concrete is curing in these forms. Bolts held in place likely will hold a track switch for launching and falling back down the 170-foot-tall spike expected for the ride.
The first iteration of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will open at Universal Studios Hollywood this year. It consists of 4,100 feet of track, sound reduction technology, and 360-degree rotation to create the sensation of drifting. Differences in land mean the Florida version of Hollywood Drift won’t be identical to the California version — it’s on a mountainside in California, but will be in a long flat space in Florida. It will likely have the same theming and drifting effects, though.
