The improvement project includes upgrades to the dog park, a “completely” revamped skate park, three new pickleball courts, two new pavilions and more.
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — DeLeon Shores Park in Ponte Vedra Beach will close for “roughly” eight months starting Sunday, March 1, officials say, as the park is set to undergo a $1.9 million improvement project.
The 4-acre park, located at 82 Dolphin Blvd. E., currently features a playground, skate park, tennis court, two basketball courts, a pavilion, a grass multipurpose field and a dog park.
St. Johns County said in a release that the following improvements will be made to the park:

According to county officials, K&G Construction Co., Inc. will be handling the project.
“This project is going to completely transform DeLeon Shores Park into a more vibrant and welcoming space for our community,” Tim Connor, project manager with St. Johns County Parks and Recreation, said in the release. “We’re delivering amenities that residents have asked for, including new pickleball courts, a completely redesigned skate park, upgraded athletic field, pavilions, and modern restroom facilities. When this project is complete, the park will not only serve today’s families and athletes, but will continue to support recreation, connection, and community pride for many years to come.”
