The No. 7 Florida seeks to maintain their grip on the SEC regular-season lead as it hosts No. 17 Arkansas for what is sure to be a clash of conference heavyweights. The game may decide the SEC title race — and for the Gators, a win clinches at least a share of the SEC in-season crown. A loss for Arkansas eliminates them from snagging a piece of that.

The Gators are on an eight-game winning streak, including a rally-from-behind road victory. Alex Condon will look to carry his play from Wednesday night over to Saturday, as he’s riding a three-game streak scoring twenty or more points.

As Condon looks to maintain his scoring momentum, Florida will also want to continue streaking as they’ve captured wins in 13 out of their last 14 games. During this stretch, the Gators’ defense has been lights out — their 11 second-half blocks against Texas were the equalizer despite a turnover-heavy first half.

Arkansas has won six of its last seven games, including a 99-84 win over Texas A&M at home on Wednesday. The hogs rank fourth nationally in offensive efficiency and feature the best turnover rate in the country. John Calipari’s team beat Louisville and Texas Tech earlier in the season, but fell to Michigan State, Duke, and Houston. Arkansas ranks 269th at guarding inside the three-point, a deficiency Florida will be sure to exploit.

Considering what’s at stake for Todd Golden’s team, there should be no extra motivation needed in a game with such lofty implications. Expect the Gators to pull away in the second half once again fueled by an energetic home crowd.

Prediction: Florida 91, Arkansas 75
