Lee County Commissioner Mulicka to speak at REIS monthly luncheon March 10
Join REIS (Real Estate Investment Society) Tuesday, March 10, to hear updates from Lee County Commissioner David Mulicka.
Mulicka grew up in Cape Coral and Pine Island, graduating from Cape Coral High School with honors at just 16 before attending the University of Florida. In 2003, he founded HONC Destruction, which he grew into Southwest Florida’s largest demolition and recycling company. With more than 20 years of business leadership, he has developed a keen understanding of solving complex problems, managing budgets, building relationships and working with local government.
Mulicka’s family roots trace back to John Powell, one of the original settlers of Fort Myers. Powell served on the first Lee Board of County Commissioners in 1887.
The program will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, 9802 Pelican Preserve Blvd. Fort Myers.
Tickets are $30 form members and $45 for non-members. Reservations are required by Friday, March 6.

SWFL Inc. opens nominations for 2026 INCredible Awards
SWFL Inc. has announced that nominations are open for the 2026 INCredible Awards, a celebration honoring outstanding individuals, businesses and nonprofits in Southwest Florida. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. Nominations close on March 24.
The INCredible Awards recognize the influential leaders and organizations that contribute to the economic growth and prosperity of the region. SWFL Inc. invites the community to nominate deserving candidates who have demonstrated excellence in their industry and made a lasting impact on Southwest Florida.
Award categories are SWFL Citizen of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, INCredible Award, Innovation Award and Veteran-Owned Business of the Year.

FPRA Southwest Florida and FGCU to host ‘Soaring Connections’ student-professional networking
The Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter, in partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University’s student chapter and the Department of Communication & Philosophy, will host the second annual “Soaring Connections” Monday, March 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., at FGCU’s Water School.
Unlike a traditional career fair, Soaring Connections uses a structured, speed-networking format that allows students to meet with multiple professionals in public relations, marketing, journalism, advertising and related fields.
Soaring Connections is free to attend. FPRA members and other communications professionals are encouraged to participate and support the next generation of industry talent.
