HE WAS TAKEN BY HELICOPTER TO THE HOSPITAL AND LATER DIED. HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF ADVANCING IN HIS CAREER TO JOIN THE CRIMINAL INTERDICTION TEAM UNIT HAS A FELONY OFFICER. HE LEAVES BEHIND HIS FAMILY AND FIANCE. >> IT PASSED AWAY DOING SOMETHING YOU ALWAYS DREAMED OF. AND I’M BEYOND PROUD OF I WILL FOREVER MISS YOU. YOU ARE THE BEST THING IN MY LIFE. IT MAY BE HAPPY. On Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol is set to honor fallen trooper Michael Diego at First Naples Church.Full line-of-duty death honors will be given to Diego at First Naples Church immediately following the memorial service at 12 p.m. You can watch the memorial service live by clicking this link.Diego died in the line of duty on Feb. 18 while participating in a competitive process for the Patrol’s Criminal Interdiction Unit at the FHP training academy.
