JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rain is in the forecast today for Southeast Georgia before moving into Northeast Florida later this afternoon/early evening.
The soaking originally hoped for has tapered off, but we still need the rain. There’s a chance of isolated thunderstorms as temperatures near 80 on Friday. Gusty conditions up can’t be ruled out as the system moves through our area.
Lawn Cast
Northeast Florida rain will last through early Saturday morning, and temperatures will settle in the lower 70s.
Either way, conditions remain dry, and there isn’t much rain in the forecast beyond Saturday.
Futurecast
The drought conditions continue with little relief in sight. This is the largest coverage of extreme drought since 2000. The U.S. Seasonal Drought Outlook has all of Florida in a persistent drought through May.
