After three seasons at Tennessee football, slot receiver and punt returner Squirrel White entered the transfer portal and made his way to Florida State for his final season of eligibility.
That move wasn’t looked at favorably in retrospect by PFF, though. The site listed him as a wide receiver who lowered his draft stock by entering the portal.
PFF noted the success he had with the Vols in 2023 as the primary reason. After the breakout year, the entire offense took a step back in 2024. Then, his final year at FSU was his worst one yet, though he did battle through injury. Meanwhile, UT’s offense reemerged as an elite unit.
With the Seminoles, White played in just six games in 2025. He produced only five receptions for 52 yards and no touchdowns on the year. He also ran the ball four times for only six yards. In three of the games, he did not record a single receiving yard.

In 2024, White battled through an upper-body injury. On an offense that took a significant step back, he totalled 381 yards and two touchdowns on 34 receptions. That came over the course of 11 games.
As a sophomore in 2023, with Joe Milton III at quarterback, he was terrific. In 13 games, White totalled 803 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 67 receptions. The year prior, in 2022, White was a freshman behind Jalin Hyatt. He notched 30 catches for 481 yards and a pair of scores.
Now, White is out of eligibility and entering the NFL draft. He was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, which is underway, but is expected to work out in front of NFL scouts at the team’s Pro Day.
