Here’s a guide with everything you need to know to enjoy the free show, including if the Navy’s Blue Angels are part of this year’s lineup.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — This weekend, the sky over Jacksonville Beach will roar to life as several skilled pilots will perform thrilling aerial stunts at the Sea and Sky Air Show — a high-octane, free event headlined by the U.S. Navy’s elite flight squadron, the Blue Angels.

As of Thursday morning, the Blue Angels are still scheduled to perform at the event, a spokesperson for the City of Jacksonville’s Office of Sports and Entertainment told First Coast News. However, the Blue Angels’ participation in the show is subject to change pending the status of the government shutdown.

The event is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors, as it will feature captivating air performances, vendors, food trucks, and a host of other attractions and displays.

The following is a guide with everything you need to know to enjoy the event.

What to know before you go

Is there an admission fee?

There is no admission fee for the 2025 Sea and Sky Air Show.

Can boaters watch the show from their boats?

Yes, boaters can watch the show from their boats, but strict regulations will be in place. The U.S. Coast Guard and Navy will enforce a “Naval Vessel Protection Zone.” Boaters must operate at minimum speed within 500 yards of any U.S. Naval vessel and follow instructions from the vessel’s commanding officers. Do not approach within 100 yards of any naval vessel. Violating the Naval Vessel Protection Zone is a felony, punishable by up to six years in prison or up to $250,000 in fines.

The safety zone boundaries are:

North: One nautical mile north of the pier. Boats must stay north of the buoy line.

South: 1.75 nautical miles south of the pier. Boats must stay north of the buoy line.

East: 0.75 nautical mile east of the end of the pier. Boats must stay east of the buoy line.

West: Along the beachfront.

Boaters should tune marine band radios to VHF-FM Channel 22A at 8:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. for further instructions. These details are subject to change, according to U.S. Coast Guard regulations.

Are lawn chairs, blankets and pop-up tents allowed?

Yes, attendees can bring lawn chairs and blankets to the show. The Seawalk Pavilion lawn will be available for general public seating.

Attendees can also bring pop-up tents to the show, but they are only permitted on the beach, not on streets, Latham Plaza or the Seawalk Pavilion.

Can I swim or surf in the ocean during the show?

Yes, swimming and surfing is allowed during the show, but you cannot go beyond 300 feet from shore. Parasailing will not be allowed.

What forms of payment are accepted at the show?

What happens if it rains?

The show will happen rain or shine. If weather becomes unsafe, performances will be postponed or cancelled as determined by the Air Show Emergency Operations Command. Evacuation announcements will be made if necessary, and real-time updates will be shared on the City of Jacksonville’s social media pages.


Parking

The City of Jacksonville says no public beach parking will be available for the show, as the following parking lots will be closed:

Ritz Lot (a.k.a. 3rd Avenue parking lot), Jacksonville Beach Pier Lot, Latham Plaza Lot, 6th Avenue North from 1st Street to the beach, 6th Avenue North from 2nd Street to the beach, Beachside Lot, 1st Avenue South, and 2nd Avenue South

However, the show is providing a shuttle service, which will run from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on both days of the show.
