ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Will Power’s debut race for Andretti Global was derailed less than a quarter into the race.
Power, who now drives the No. 26 Honda for Andretti Global, hit the wall in Turn 10 of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The single-car crash damaged Power’s suspension and caused him to step out of the car. Power took the track again, but he was more than 20 laps behind the lead lap.
Power, who turns 45 today, is in his first season with Andretti Global after 17 seasons driving for Team Penske. He finished 12th in the IndyCar standings last year, which was his lowest finish since 2009, his first year with Team Penske.

Power signed a multiyear contract with Andretti Global, where he and Ron Ruzewski, Andretti Global’s principal and Power’s former Team Penske strategist, began on January 1.
