A SpaceX rocket is scheduled to launch from Florida on Sunday night, with its flight path expected to be visible in the skies over Connecticut shortly after launch.

According to Space Exploration Technologies Corp., more commonly known as SpaceX, its Falcon 9 rocket will launch at about 10 p.m. on Sunday.

SpaceX, one of billionaire Elon Musk’s companies, said the rocket launch will bring 29 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. It will be the 26th flight for the first-stage booster supporting that mission, the company said.

“Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean,” the company says on its website.

According to a social media post by meteorologist Kevin Arnone, the rocket should be visible in Connecticut’s southeastern sky four to eight minutes after it launches.

“Because of the timing and trajectory of the launch, the bright plume of the rocket’s exhaust should be visible from the Eastern United States, including Connecticut,” said Arnone, who studied meteorology at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, according to his Facebook page.
