The free access to select museums will apply Sept. 20, with some restrictions.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The “City of the Arts” will celebrate Free Museum Day on Sept. 20 by opening its doors to the cultural offerings for free, with a few considerations.

A press release from the city said that the event was coordinated by St. Pete’s government and the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance.

Some museums will require visitors to reserve their tickets in advance and will ask for an ID. Other “museums limit free access to Pinellas County or St. Pete residents,” the city said.
