Westbound lanes of MacArthur Causeway shut down due to crash at Biscayne Blvd – NBC 6 South Florida

All westbound lanes on the MacArthur Causeway were shut down Monday morning at Biscayne Boulevard due to a crash, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said it happened at 5:28 a.m. A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

It was not immediately clear what may have caused the crash.

“Drivers are being diverted to the Biscayne Boulevard exit, where they can continue west on NE 13 Street to access the westbound I-395 ramp at North Miami Avenue,” officials with the Florida Department of Transportation’s Connecting Miami project said.

Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes, like the Julia Tuttle Causeway (Interstate 195), as an alternate route.
